Q: What is the purpose of RentalBuilder?

A: We offer online availability calendars, visitors' guest books, photo management and enquiry forms for property rental owners. Have one central point to manage your important data. You can access your calendar and other interactive components on Rental Builder from your own website or online adverts in any of the following three ways:
1) Integrate them easily and seamlessly into your existing website.
2) Create a pop-up window to show the calendar or guest book etc.
3) Simply create a link.

Q: How can I integrate my Rental Builder calendar or other component into my own website?

A: The beauty of Rental Builder is that your calendar, guest book and other components on Rental Builder are YOURS, there are no adverts or explicit mention of Rental Builder on YOUR pages. This means that it is easy to integrate your calendar or other component on Rental Builder into your own website. All you need is space on one of your web pages, add some code and you're done.
Alternatively, you can access your Rental Builder components by simply creating a link or using a pop-up window to hold the data.

Q: Why do I need an availability calendar?

A: To meet your customers' needs and encourage more enquiries. All serious enquirers need to check availability at some stage. Where competition is fierce, adverts that display availability will win over those with no availability showing.

Q: Why do I need a visitor's guest book?

A: The best ambassadors for your rental property are previous satisfied tenants. Selected comments from your in-house visitor's guest book should be shared with the world.

Q: Why do I need more photos?

A: Good photos and a good lot of photos are very important in attracting interest. If your existing adverts are limited in the number or size of photos than set up your additional display on Rental Builder.

Q: What size and type of photos can I upload?

A: Up to 100 kb each in jpeg, jpg or gif format. Please ensure the photos have as small a file size as possible as larger file sizes will cause your page to load more slowly.

Q: How many photos am I allowed?

A: Up to 20 per listing. If you require more please contact us.

Q: Why do I need an enquiry form?

A: All serious enquirers will need to contact the property owner or agent at some stage. Where competition is strong, adverts that display enquiry forms will win over those with no enquiry form showing. The form reduces time required to compose an e-mail enquiry. And of course e-mail enquiry forms are much more attractive to users than having to pick up the telephone, especially so when making initial enquiries.

Q: Why does my enquiry form require input of random characters prior to submission?

A: This helps protect you from automated spam-bots and ensures only real visitors fill out your form. The technology is called 'CAPTCHA'.

A: Any property rental owner or agent over 18 years of age.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: 180 Day Free Trial is available for new members. Create up to 3 listings.
Standard annual membership: Runs for 1 year. 30 euros to join. Create up to 3 listings free of charge.
Premium annual membership: Runs for 1 year. 50 euros to join. Create up to 6 listings free of charge.

Q: You mention 'listings' - what do you mean?

A: We use the term 'listings' to cover the use of our interactive tools eg rental calendar, guest book etc. One listing can include the complete suite of our interactive components.

A: Of course. You need only use the components you want.

Q: Free Trial - what's the catch?

A: None. You can register for free online and add up to three listings. The free trial lasts for 180 days. There is no obligation to continue after this period. We are confident and hopeful that you will like what you see and after the trial period ends opt voluntarily for one of our paid membership plans.

Q: How do I pay?

A: You can pay online by Paypal (no Paypal account is required), by electronic bank transfer or cheque.

Q: How long do listings run for?

A: The free trial lasts for 180 days. Listings taken out under one of our paid membership options run for one year. They can then be renewed if required.

Q: I don't like computers, can you manage my listings for me?

A: Yes, we offer a full management service. We can add and maintain a listing for an additional fee of 25 € pa.

Q: How do I add my first listing?

A: Once you register you will be given a login and password. Simply logon and click on 'My Account' or 'Add Listing'.

Q: How do I edit my listings?

A: Simply logon and click on 'My Account' then select the listing you would like to edit. Remember to click update when you have finished editing.

Q: What location should I choose when creating my listing?

A: Always choose the lowest and most specific location eg Europe/France/Aquitaine/Landes is acceptable but Europe/France is not.

Q: How do I use the text editor to add comments to my guest book?

A: Click on the right icon (lower row) of the editor, this will maximise the editing window. Select text type eg Arial, size, colour (if required) etc and type as normal. The icon for a line can be used to divide entries. Try experimenting with different text styles and sizes etc to give a more individual look to each entry. When finished minimise the editing window and click Update button on bottom of page.

Q: How do I upgrade my membership plan?

A: Login and under 'My Account' select 'Renew/Upgrade Membership' option. This will take you to the 'Order membership' page where you can select the membership plan to suit your needs.

Q: How do I renew my listings if I have a Trial Membership plan?

A: You need to upgrade your membership. Login and under 'My Account' select 'Renew/Upgrade Membership' option. This will take you to the 'Order membership' page where you can select the membership plan to suit your needs.
Please remember that when upgrading from a Free Trial Membership to a Standard or Premium Membership the free trial obviously expires and payment will then be due.
